Due to the nutation, the instantaneous pole of rotation of the Earth oscillates around a mean pole which advances by the precession around the pole of the ecliptic . The nutation is due principally to the action of the Moon , and can be described by a sum of periodic terms. The most important term has a period 6798.4 days ( 18.6 years ) , but some other terms have a very short period ( less than 10 days ). Nutation is conveniently partitioned into a component parallel to , and one prependicular to the ecliptic . The component along the ecliptic is denoted by Δψ and is called nutation in longitude ; it affects the celestial longitude of all heavenly bodies . The component prependicular to the ecliptic is denoted by Δε is called the nutation in obliquity , since it affects the obliquity of the equator to the ecliptic . The quantities Δψ and Δε are needed for the calculation of the apparent place of a heavenly body and for that of the apparent sidereal time . For any given instant , Δψ and Δε can be calculated as follows : Find the time T measured in Julian centries from Epoch J2000.0 ( JDE 2451545.0 ) T = (JDE - 2451545) / 36525 Where JDE is the Julian Ephemeris Day ; it differs from the Julian day JD by the small quantity of Delta T . then calculate the following angles expressed in degrees and decimals . these expressions are those which are provided by the International Astronomical Union ; they differ slightly from those used in Chapront’s Lunar Theory Mean elongation of the Moon from the Sun : D = 297.85036 + 445267.111480 * TE - 0.0019142 * TE^2 + TE^3 / 189474 Mean anomaly of the Sun ( Earth ): M = 357.52772 + 35999.05034 * TE - 0.0001603 * TE^2 - TE^3 / 300000 Mean Anomaly of the Moon : M’ = 134.96298 + 477198.867398 * TE + 0.0086972 * TE^2 + TE^3 / 56250 Moon’s argument of latitude F = 93.27191 + 483202.017538 * TE - 0.0036825 * TE^2 + TE^3 / 327270 Longitude of ascending node of the Moons mean orbit on the ecliptic ,measured from the mean equinox of the date : Omega = 125.04452 - 1934.136261 * TE + 0.0020708 * TE^2 + TE^3 / 450000 The Nutaton in Longitude Δψ and in obliquity Δε are then obtained by making the sum of the terms given below , where the coefficients are given in units of 0’’.0001. These terms are those of the 1980 IAU Theory of Nutation where ,however , we have neglected the terms with with a coefficient smaller than 0’’.0003 . The argument of each sine for Δψ and cosine for Δε is alinear combination of the five fundmental arguments D,M,M’,F, and omega . Of course , if no great accuracy is needed , only the periodic terms with the largest coefficients can be used . If an accuracy of 0’’.5 in Δψ and of 0”.1 in Δε are sufficient , then we may drop the trems in T^2 and in T^3 in the above expression for Omega , and then use the following simplified expressions : Δψ = -17”.20 sin Omega – 1”.32 sin 2L – 0”.23 sin 2L’ + 0”.21 sin 2Omega Δε = +9” .20 cos Omega + 0”.57 cos 2L + 0”.10 cos 2L’ – 0”.09 cos 2Omega Where L and L‘ are the mean longitude of the Sun and the Moon , respectively : L = 280°.4665 + 36000.7698 T L’= 218°.3165 + 481267°.8813 T Priodic terms for the nutation in Longitude and on obliquity The units is 0”.0001 Nutation in Longitude “Δψ” dp = (-171996 - نوفيد خالد 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2005 الأخ الكريم محمد مجدي هذه أول مشاركة لي بالمنتدى , و أشكرك مقدما على مشاركاتك القيمة .
